This wood is durable and hard. It requires very sharp and efficient tools. But because of its hardness, it can break brass screws when driven inside. This wood is used for bowling alleys and bowling pins, baseball bats, and musical instruments. In construction and woodworking, it is known for furniture and flooring. Other uses include tool handles, shoe lasts and farm equipment.
